PROCESSIONS 2018 was a commissioned by Artichoke and 1418 NOW to commemorate the centenary of the famous 'Sea of Banners' march for women's suffrage through London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast. I was commissioned by Clean Break Theatre to work with thier members to devise, design and create a banner celebrating womens suffrage and asking questions about equality and justice one hundred years on, when prisoners in the UK do not have the vote, and when women living in refuges are unable to use their voice to vote due to safety concerns.
After several discussion, forum theatre and design sessions, we spent 3 days making: appliqueing and emboridering on a piece of 100 year old vintage linen that was dyed in the colours of the suffragettes
